From India to Vancouver: Bikram’s Journey Beyond the Classroom

Program: Business Management & Co-op Diploma
Co-op Role: Production Assistant at Catering Services Ltd.
Country of Origin: India

Why Did You Choose Canada and Canadian College?

I chose Canadian College because of its exceptional teaching methods, strong English programs, and a supportive learning environment that fosters professionalism. From the beginning, I felt welcomed and motivated to grow both academically and personally.

What Stood Out the Most During Your Time at CC?

What impressed me the most was how hands-on the education is. Instructors don’t just teach from a textbook—they help you apply what you learn in real-life situations. That practical approach, combined with personal support, gave me the confidence and skills to succeed.

Did You Have Any Work Experience Before Coming to Canada?

Yes. I had two years of experience working in marketing in India. But my co-op experience in Canada allowed me to explore a new industry and broaden my skill set in a completely different environment.

What Were Your Responsibilities in the Co-op Role?

As a Production Assistant at Catering Services Ltd., I was responsible for ensuring high food quality standards. My daily tasks included inspecting food products, checking for consistency, collaborating with suppliers, and implementing strict quality control measures. The role taught me how to work with precision and discipline while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

What Advice Would You Give to Future Students?

My advice is to always be punctual. In Vancouver, it’s an essential part of adapting to the professional culture. Punctuality builds trust and helps you take full advantage of every opportunity—whether it's volunteering, networking, or joining student events. Every bit of participation adds value to your experience.

Bikram’s story is one of many that reflect the real-world value of a Canadian College education. With a focus on applied learning, supportive faculty, and meaningful co-op placements, CC helps students turn international study into lasting career growth.
